PSG ready to battle Arsenal for 'world-class' striker

Paris Saint-Germain are ready to provide fierce competition to Arsenal in the pursuit of Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez at the end of the season, according to L'Equipe.
The Gunners signed Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP last summer, and the Swede has fared well upfront with 21 goals across all competitions.
Despite this, they are eyeing another strong competitor upfront and reports claim that Alvarez is one of the prime candidates on their radar.
Atletico signed the World Cup winner from Manchester City for 64 million pounds upfront and could demand at least 100 million pounds to sell.
The Gunners have held initial talks with the player's entourage, but look set to face fierce competition from PSG for the highly-rated attacker.
Alvarez, described as 'world-class' by FIFA.com, has made 29 goal contributions this campaign for Diego Simeone's side in all competitions.
He is primarily a striker but can also operate out wide or as a no.10. His versatility could be a prime reason behind the transfer interest.
