Tottenham agree personal terms with Man Utd target

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed personal terms with Manchester United target Mateus Fernandes ahead of a possible transfer.
The north London giants finished last season on a low note with a 17th-placed finish in the Premier League, but they are aiming high for next season.
The club are keen on landing two marquee midfielders. Newcastle United's Sandro Tonali is the prime target and negotiations are underway.
West Ham's Fernandes is the other. Spurs have now finalised terms with the player, but are still far away from securing an agreement for him.
West Ham are reluctant to lower their £80m valuation for the Portuguese, while there is no guarantee that they will change their stance in future.
United are likewise keen on landing the former Southampton man and there is a belief within their camp that Fernandes will eventually choose them.
Fernandes is said to be eager to sort out his future before pre-season. West Ham are eyeing a quicker sale too so that they can land a proper successor.
