Man Utd reach agreement for third midfield signing

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign midfielder Carlos Baleba, according to journalist David Ornstein.
The Red Devils have already landed two midfielders in Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans this summer and are now poised to land another.
It was initially claimed that United were having second thoughts about a third midfield signing, but have since moved forward to recruit Baleba from Brighton.
Baleba had a poor 2025/26 campaign with the Seagulls. He was dropped to the substitutes' bench on many occasions in the back end of the season.
It was quite clear that the Cameroonian was affected by the speculation and the failure to join the Red Devils during last summer's transfer window.
He has finally got his wish after the Red Devils agreed on a package worth £60m plus add-ons with the Seagulls for his transfer.
Baleba won't be able to make his United debut rightaway, given he is currently out with an ankle injury for another three weeks.
