Farfan happy at Schalke
Peruvian international midfielder Jefferson Farfan has revealed he is delighted to have joined Schalke 04 from PSV Eindhoven, and that Tottenham also made a late offer for his services.
Farfan told peru.com: "I accepted the offer from Schalke because I wanted to play in a more competitive league.
"I had offers from other clubs. There was an offer from Tottenham in England, another from Fiorentina in Italy and one more from a Russian club.
"What I decided with PSV was to look for a competitive team and obviously in a league which was a level above Dutch football, and for sporting reasons I accepted the offer from Schalke.
"I want to begin a new era in my life. It went well for me in Holland and I think that it was about time to leave and look for new horizons."
