Chelsea make Robert Sanchez transfer decision

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has opened the door for the departure of goalkeeper Robert Sanchez before the transfer window closes on Tuesday night.

Sanchez has been the Blues' regular shot-stopper in the Premier League, but he was completely excluded from the matchday squad for the win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

New signing Emiliano Martinez was drafted straight into the XI while Mike Penders was picked as the substitute goalkeeper.

It is now revealed that Sanchez has been deemed surplus to requirements after his lacklustre showing against Fulham.

Sanchez made a high-profile error that led to the first goal conceded in the 3-2 win, and that has basically proved to be the last straw.

Alonso has conveyed his feelings to his compatriot, and Sanchez could be on his way out of the Blues before the deadline.

The former Brighton man is reportedly attracting interest from multiple La Liga and Serie A clubs. They are exploring a loan deal.
