Michael Carrick says Man Utd duo were terrific vs Leeds

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick heaped praise on midfield duo Carlos Baleba and Andrey Santos after the 1-1 Premier League draw against Leeds United away.

Baleba and Santos started together in midfield for the first time during the 2-0 Champions League loss at Atletico Madrid. The pair kept their places against Leeds and produced another top showing.

Baleba was replaced by Mason Mount, but Carrick was still impressed by the pair's application and said they were terrific against the Whites.

Carrick said after the game: "Both young players adapting to life at this football club, and I thought both of them were terrific today."

United are currently winless in six matches in all competitions. They are languishing 13th in the league table with seven points after as many games.

They are set to face another stern challenge in Europe on Wednesday night. United will be away against high-flying Serie A outfit Como.

Cesc Fabregas' side have developed heaps and bounds since their promotion few years ago and should be a tough opposition.
