Atletico chasing Arteta?

Reports emanating from Spain this morning suggest that Mikel Arteta could well be on his way back to his homeland as Atletico Madrid have reportedly lodged an offer for the talented centre midfielder.

It is understood that Atletico Madrid are set to lodge a formal offer for the playmaker, believed to be in the region of 12 million EUR.

Everton have already been on the look out for a number of replacements, Tom Huddlestone and Michael Johnson have both been suggested for the midfield role.

Arteta feels a little like he has missed out on international football at Everton and is desperate to make his way into the Spain setup.
