Arsenal making bid for Arshavin

Arsenal are reportedly set to make an offer for Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Andrei Arshavin this summer as Alexander Hleb looked increasingly likely to be heading for the exit door.

A host of Europe's top clubs have all been desperate to land the Russian international, who has had a sensational Euro 2008 tournament so far.

Many feel that the 27 year old single handedly brought UEFA Cup glory to Zenit, and with it the reward of millions of pounds of prize money.
