Elano warns Chelsea
Man City midfielder Elano has warned Chelsea that his club will be catching up with them soon. The Brazilian also warned that Robinho will be ready to prove that he was value for his £33million transfer fee.
âChelsea are the most powerful team in England right now,â Elano told The Sun. âBut we hope to catch them up soon.
âThere has been a total change in policy at our club. We are going through a large transformation.
âAt the end of the season you will see a group of 16 or 17 top players at the club and they will enable us to challenge teams like Chelsea and Manchester United. We have already challenged Chelsea to sign Robinho and beaten them.
âThat will make them even more determined to beat us and it will be a very hard game. But it could be the right time for us to face them.
âThere is a very good atmosphere at the club right now and a lot of confidence. The takeover and signing of Robinho have inspired everyone.
âIt will be a hard game for him because it will be his first match in The Premier League and it is against the club who tried to sign him. That will add something extra to the occasion but it will not affect him.
âHe will want to play well. Not to prove something to Chelsea but because he wants to do his best for City.â
