Fiorentina chase Veloso

It is being reported this morning that Miguel Veloso is being monitored by Fiorentina. The Sporting Lisbon man is one of the most highly regarded young midfielders on the continent, and Arsenal and Man Utd are also both reportedly interested.

Paulo Barbosa, Veloso's agent, said: "I know that there were some Italian representatives, I can confirm that they were from Fiorentina. I have good reasons to believe that the news is true.

"I can confirm this, but there are no real negotiations.

"Certainly, Florence would be a happy destination for the player."
