Spurs close in on Stephen Hunt

Tottenham are reportedly edging ever closer to buying out the minimum fee release clause inserted in Reading midfielder Stephen Hunt's contract. The Irishman is keen to leave for pastures new.

However, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp may have his work cut out in his attempts to lure him to the club, as it appears that Wigan too are interested in Hunt.

Wigan are desperate to bring in some new players after the high profile departures of Henri Camara and Wilson Palacios in recent weeks.

Spurs and Wigan are both prepared to meet the 5 million GBP fee in his contract.
