Gudjohnsen to make 100th appearance

The Iceland striker, Eidur Gudjohnsen, is all set to make his 100th appearance for FC Barcelona. Barcelona will play Sporting Gijon on Sunday, Gudjohnsen would be hoping to reach the milestone then.

The former Chelsea striker, Gudjohnsen, signed for Barcelona in 2006 and made his first appearance for them against Espanyol which they won 3-0.

He was bought as a replacement for Henrik Larsson.

He has not been the regular starter in a star-studded Barcelona team who play a fluid football, but, he has adjusted to their gameplay and had been made good use by former manager Frank Rijkaard and the current boss Pep Guardiola.

Pep had used him well, Gudjohnsen played 11 games for the Blaugranas, scoring four goals and providing three assists.
