Saviola heading for Stoke?

Stoke City have emerged as a shock candidate for the signature of Argentina international striker Javier Saviola. The Real Madrid forward is unhappy with life on the bench at the Bernebeu.

It is understood that Stoke boss Tony Pulis is ready to spend all of his transfer kitty on the talented striker in the summer, after securing Premiership survival.

The Argentinian international is valued by Real Madrid at around £4 million, and is keen to make a switch away from Spain and try his hand in another league.

It is also understood that Corinthians and River Plate are also interested in the forward.
