Blackburn beat Black Cats

Blackburn defeated Sunderland 2-1 at the Stadium of Light thanks to two goals from David Bentley and Roque Santa Cruz. Grant Leadbitter scored a last minute goal but Blackburn get the three points.

The result takes Blackburn past Newcastle in the league. After a goalless opening period David Bentley scored on 53 minutes before a second was added only two minutes later by Roque Santa Cruz, following good work again by Bentley.

Grant Leadbitter scored a last-minute consolation for the Black Cats.
