Crouch signs for Tottenham

England international striker Peter Crouch has completed his move to Tottenham, for a fee believed to be in the region of a total figure of £10 million. It is understood that the initial fee will be paltry £6 million.
Portsmouth were keen to let their star striker leave as the player had already announced he would like to move elsewhere.
Before joining Tottenham, Crouch had already rejected a move to Sunderland.
"We are sorry to see Peter go both as a player and a person and would like to thank him for playing a key role in keeping the club in the Premier League last season," read a statement on Pompey's website.
"His sale was necessitated by the club's commitment to repay scheduled debts while we are in a transitional period of completing the takeover.
"We will now be looking to add fresh faces to the first-team squad as soon as possible."
