Evra: Man Utd goalfest

Man Utd defender Patrice Evra has insisted that the Premiership champions can repeat their 7-1 goal fest from last seasons Champions League game against Roma. The two teams lock horns again tonight.

"I couldn't believe what was happening last season against Roma and the reason was because it had happened to me before!" Evra said in the Manchester Evening News.

"When I was with Monaco we beat Deportivo La Coruna 8-3 in the Champions League. We scored four goals in something like 20 minutes and I said to my team-mates: `This is not possible'. It was the same against Roma.

"But after a game like that there is a very strange sensation. You are happy. Of course you are you have just won 7-1 - but it's almost too much.

"Against La Coruna I said it was just one time in my life and it would never happen again. For it to happen twice is incredible. I doubt I will ever experience a third like that, but I can't complain with two."

He continued: "I remember the coach for La Coruna, Javier Irureta, said that the 8-3 defeat was once-in-a-lifetime. He prayed to God that he would play against Monaco again so that he could win.

"The next season the teams faced each other again. I thought La Coruna would win because they would play for revenge.

"But Monaco went to Deportivo and scored in the first ten minutes. The home side panicked and Monaco won 5-0!

"We need to think that if we can score early then Roma may start to doubt."
