The Exodus of Didier

The Exodus of Didier

The Exodus of Didier

Premature? Maybe, truthful? Difficult not to see it as otherwise. Will Didier Drogba, the Ivory Coast International and one of the most prolific strikers in the England, no, let me correct myself, in futebol period, be wearing a Chelsea jersey come January?

My question is how could he not leave? What does he have left for him to accomplish in England that could not be accomplished somewhere else? Yes I am talking about the Champions League. If you have not figured it out as of yet, yes I do believe that Mr. Didier will be pushing to leave Chelsea in the upcoming transfer window.

The departure of Jose Mourinho has evidently left Drogba sour and the current situation at Chelsea will only perpetuate his reasoning to leave. It is clear that the two had a fondness for each other. The Portuguese tactician plucked Drogba from Olympique de Marseille after keeping tabs on the player for over a year. Even when criticized by the media for his "inconsistencies", The Special one stood tall by his man. As time passed, Drogba's combination of strength and skill was finally realized. He was the spear of the Chelsea's attack, often holding off multiple defenders while retaining possession, essentially a battering ram for the better part of 2 seasons.

Now Jose Mourinho has been forced out, and although a coach has been planted in Avant Grant, it is apparent that the real decisions will be coming from a certain Oil Barren. What does this mean for Drogba, it means that the team he knew is no longer alive. The team is no longer based on hard work, skill, commitment and trust, but rather by preference. The ideology of hardwork was what Drogba based his career on. Now that is gone, and so is the coach that further supported his ideology. Never mind Shevchenko will always be ahead of him in the depth chart regardless of performance or form simply because of a certain interest(Ballack too cough cough). The Ivory Coast International has won two League Titles, one F.A Cup title, two Football League Cups, the F.A Community Shield and the English Golden Boot in a campaign that saw him score 40 goals in all competitions. He is currently 29 years old. Now you don't have to be good a math to add up this equation, hell my delinquent brother could solve for Y in this instance. Didier Drogba has no reason to remain at Chelsea. He has won all he can win at Chelsea barring the Champions League. So I ask you and I ask you...how could Drogba not leave Chelsea?
