In a summer that appears to have the potential to contain a goalkeeping transfer merry-go-round, Wigan keeper Chris Kirkland is reportedly a target for Sunderland boss Steve Bruce who may let Craig Gordon leave the club.

Chris Kirkland has found his England squad place slip away in recent months after some mixed performances at Wigan.

Kirkland is eager to try his hand at a bigger club after enjoying some success at Liverpool a few years back.

Sunderland will offer 5.5 million GBP for the keeper.
