West Ham sign Hitzlsperger

West Ham have completed the signing of Thomas Hitzlsperger on a free transfer after his contract with Lazio expired and the Italians decided not to renew it.

Hitzlsperger spent some time in the Premiership under John Gregory with Aston Villa, and was famous for his long strikes and free kicks.

Since joining Lazio, the German international failed to impress and now finds himself heading back to the Premiership with the Hammers.
