West Brom seek respect

West Brom's defender Jonas Olsson has called for his side to be given the credit they deserve after another impressive performance against one of the league’s big boys. The Baggies came from two goals down to earn a draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Olsson feels perhaps rightly, that whenever his team pull off a surprising result, the emphasis is usually on how poorly the opposition played, as opposed to how well West Brom have performed.



"I am a little bit sick of, every time we get a good result, everyone talking about United not having a good day, Arsenal not having a good day and Manchester City not having a good day," he said.



Olsson certainly has a point. This West Brom side are a very different bunch of players from the yo-yo team that has bounced between the Premier League and the Championship for the past few seasons.



Although they may have enjoyed a spot of luck at Old Trafford, they thoroughly deserve to be in their current position in the table and the big defender has been one of the standout performers this term.



Along with Olsson, summer signing Peter Odemwingie has also looked every bit a Premier League striker, scoring three goals in his six appearances so far. The Nigerian international was forced to sit out the draw with Manchester United with a knee injury but should be fit to face to Fulham this weekend.

As well as their draw at Old Trafford, The Baggies have also taken points off Spurs as well as chalking up an away win over Arsenal. To add to their impressive league form, West Brom have also beaten Manchester City in the League Cup third round, earning them a fourth round clash with Leicester.



It's a case of so far so good for Di Matteo and his men and the Italian will be hoping his side's current form carries on throughout the season. If it does, then West Brom could continue to surprise everyone in the league and possibly achieve a European place.
