Sunderland to sign Darron Gibson

Sunderland are to offer £4.5 million for Man Utd midfielder Darron Gibson, according to reports this morning. The player is likely to find opportunities limited next year at Old Trafford and could be allowed to leave if the price is right.

Whilst the player is highly rated by Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson, the Scottish coach has told the player he will not stand in his way should he decide to leave.

Gibson has found himself on the fringes of the first team for over four years at United, and the opportunity of first team Premiership football at the Stadium of Light will be hard to refuse.
