Cardiff City considering Sidney Govou free transfer
Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay is weighing up a move for French free agent Sidney Govou. The 34-year-old veteran forward last played for Evian in Ligue 1.
Govou is hoping for one last season in a top flight division in European football and has been patiently waiting for a chance to prove himself in England for his entire career. In the past, Govou has been linked with a move to both Arsenal and Liverpool but, apart from a short spell in Greece with Panathinaikos, has spent his playing career in his homeland.
Cardiff are hoping to sign the Frenchman on a short term deal until the end of the year as backup for the likes of Craig Bellamy, Fraizer Campbell and Peter Odemwingie.
Govou played for the French national team over 49 times during an impressive international career.
