Ibrahimovic took to Instagram to confirm he'll sign for United

Zlatan Ibrahimovic took to Instagram today to put an end to the speculation surrounding his future, as he confirmed that he will sign for Manchester United.

It had been reported for months that the veteran Swedish striker would join the Red Devils next season, with his Paris Saint Germain contract expiring.

Fuel was added to the flames of the speculation when José Mourinho was appointed as Louis van Gaal's successor at Old Trafford. Mourinho and Ibrahimovic worked together at Inter Milan for one season, and have retained a close bond ever since.

Despite his advancing years, the 34-year-old former AC Milan and FC Barcelona marksman enjoyed the most productive campaign of his career last season, scoring more than 50 goals in all competitions to help PSG maintain their domestic dominance.

Ibrahimovic is now expected to fly to Manchester to complete a medical and sign a one-year contract tomorrow.

The Swede's wages at Old Trafford will reportedly be £220,000 per week.

United are also expected to complete the signing of 27-year-old Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan over the coming days, as Mourinho begins to bolster the squad he inherited from van Gaal, ahead of a Premier League title push next season.

Rumours also persist of an imminent move for Paul Pogba, with the latest reports from France claiming talks have been held between the Red Devils and Juventus over a potentially record breaking transfer.
