Reece Oxford set for West Ham loan exit
West Ham United are reportedly close to loaning out Reece Oxford to German club Borussia Monchengladbach for the season.
The teenager has not made himself a regular in the Hammers setup despite making his Premier League debut at a tender age of 16 two years ago.
BBC Sport reveals that Oxford has undergone a successful medical with the Bundesliga club, and the deal will be confirmed at the earliest opportunity.
Chelsea's Andreas Christensen developed into a top-class defender during his two-year loan stint with the German club, and Oxford could earn the chance to progress similarly with a regular role at the back.
Despite his impending exit, Oxford remains a player for the future after he inked a fresh four-and-a-half-year deal with the Hammers in December last year.
Oxford became the second youngest Premier League starter at the age of 16 years and 198 days during West Ham United's surprise 2-0 win away at Arsenal in 2015.
West Ham United have placed emphasis in bolstering their forward ranks this summer with Arsenal's Olivier Giroud and Manchester City's Kelechi Iheanacho topping their wishlist.
