Jose Mourinho eager to commit Man Utd duo to fresh contracts
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will reportedly push the club to negotiate fresh contracts for Marcus Rashford and Marouane Fellaini.
The pair have begun the new season in good form with Fellaini, in particular, winning over the fans with his strong performances in midfield.
According to The Independent, the Special One wants contract extensions sealed for the first-team pair before the start of January. Rashford has already amassed five goals since the start of the season, and his best showing came in the 4-1 League Cup win over Burton Albion last week. The youngster still has three years left on his previous United deal, but Mourinho is hoping to have his contract extended due to the progress made.
Meanwhile, Fellaini has got the nod over Ander Herrera in the central midfield position this term, and he has started the games against Everton and Southampton in Paul Pogba's injury absence. Fellaini has just nine months remaining on his existing deal and the manager is desperate to reward him before the start of 2018, where he could potentially discuss a pre-contract with a foreign club.
