Cesc and Clichy to sign deals
Talented young Arsenal duo Gael Clichy and Cesc Fabregas look set to sign new contracts with the Gunners. Fabregas is only two years into an eight year deal, but is expected to sign a new £100,000 per week contract to stay at the club. Meanwhile, Clichy will sign a £40,000 a week deal at the Gunners.
There had been fears that Fabregas would leave the Gunners, as Barcelona and Real Madrid both hold long-standing interest in the talented midfielder.
Meanwhile, Gael Clichy was keen to tie himself to a new deal after another impressive season in the Premiership with the Gunners.
Clichy said: "We're at the end of our discussions. Everything's going well because my intention is clear: I want to stay at Arsenal. I would love to have a career here like Patrick Vieira or Thierry Henry, to stay many years at Arsenal and leave my mark on the club. I've been in London for five years. If everything goes well I will stay here for at least eight years."
Now Clichy's contract will run until 2012 will Fabregas' will run until 2013.
