16 August 2011 - 10:18

A German paper has reported that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is considering a move for Hoffenheim star midfielder Sejad Salihovic as a replacement for Cesc Fabregas, who left the Emirates for Barcelona yesterday.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Arsenal already have Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey to take the place of Fabregas, but Wenger is looking for another creative midfielder to bring in to his squad.

Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Jadson has been linked with a move to Arsenal last week, but this deal has yet to be confirmed.

Salihovic has been an important player for Hoffenheim since arriving at the Bundesliga club in 2006. Last week, the midfielder scored an incredible goal against champions Borussia Dortmund.

Hoffenheim value Salihovic in the region of 12m GBP.

The 26 year old has 23 caps for his country, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
