Downing eyes Premier League title

Downing eyes Premier League title

08 September 2011 - 06:33

Liverpool winger Stewart Downing hopes his new side can keep up their impressive start to the season and challenge for the Premier League title.

  • Chelsea defender on his way to Leeds United?
  • Chelsea ready to hand Nicolas Jackson fresh chance
  • Since Kenny Dalglish took charge at Anfield, the Scot has completely reversed Liverpool's fortunes and brought in a host of top class players.

One of those is Stewart Downing, who believes that the Reds have a fantastic chance of developing as challengers in the league this year: "There is a feel good factor at Liverpool. We started the season very well but we've got a tough run of games coming up, starting with Stoke.

"But, if we keep playing the way we are at Liverpool, we've got a hell of a chance of being in the top bracket."
