QPR to make surprise bid for Jermain Defoe

04 November 2011 - 09:04

Ambitious Queens Park Rangers could make a shock 9m GBP January offer for Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe. According to reports, Spurs are ready to let the player leave if a strong offer is made for the England international.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Queens Park Rangers are not willing to spend anymore than 9m GBP at this early stage, but are desperate to bring a world class striker to the club now that they are bankrolled by Malaysian billionaire Tony Fernandes.<br />

According to reports, Defoe would consider a move to QPR as he prefers to stay in London. At Tottenham, Emmanuel Adebayor is seemingly the first choice striker this year, with Spurs manager Harry Redknapp leaving Defoe on the sidelines in some big games.
