Wesley Ngo Baheng is set to join Newcastle in January after agreeing a pre-contract deal with the player and his club Le Havre. The player is regarded as one of the most highly rated players in France.
According to the Northern Echo, the Toon have agreed the amount to be paid to the French club in return for the highly-rated 18-year-old.
The Magpies had controversially signed French full-back/winger Charles N'Zogbia from the same club in 2004 and only after the Court of Arbitration for Sport intervened, paid the compensation amount.
