Jermain Defoe eyes Tottenham stay

25 November 2011 - 11:04

Tottenham forward Jermain Defoe wants to stay at White Hart Lane for time being, despite the England striker being linked with a move away from the club in January. QPR have been linked with a move.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd set to hold contract talks with experienced star
  • Spurs' on loan striker Emmanuel Adebayor appears to be Harry Redknapp's number one choice up front, pairing with the attacking midfield<br />

"Fans who have probably read things come up to me every day and say, 'Don't leave the club'. I was at a charity dinner the other night when a fan came up and said it to me," Defoe revealed in the Daily Mirror.<br />

"I've done it before - when I went to Portsmouth and scored my goals to remind people what I can do - but I am committed to Tottenham. I love the club and I love the fans.<br />

"It's a really important time for the club. Everyone wants to play their part and I'm no different."<br />

QPR had been linked with a 10m GBP move in January, bankrolled by new owner Tony Fernandes.
