Chelseas interest in Modric ends

Chelsea's interest in Modric ends

23 December 2011 - 18:28

Chelsea will not make a January transfer move for Tottenham attacking midfielder Luka Modric, as it appears that Andre Villas-Boas has turned his trasnfer attentions to other areas of the pitch, such as defence.

 • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
 • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
 • Gary Cahill is expected to complete a move from Bolton to Chelsea in the next two weeks, whilst Chelsea have also been considering a move for another striker once Nicolas Anelka leaves the Blues for Shanghai Shenhua in China.
Andre Villas-Boas will not be contacting Tottenham regarding Croatian international Modric though, as a move for the player has been ruled out by both Chelsea insiders and Modric representatives.
In addition, Modric is also in discussions with Tottenham regarding a brand new contract at White Hart Lane; and that deal is expected to earn the Croat around 115,000 GBP per week and make the player the top earner at Spurs.
