Aston Villa and Marseille eye Marco Borriello move

23 December 2011 - 19:20

Aston Villa and Marseille are both planning January transfer moves for AS Roma striker Marco Borriello. Both teams are planning to strengthen their attack during the up coming transfer window, with a fee of around 6m GBP suggested.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • Borriello has struggled in recent months at AS Roma, and could turn his back on the club that paid 10m Euros for him in 2010. Luis Enrique the club manager has told Borriello that he is free to leave.

The arrival of Pablo Osvaldo has meant Borriello's spent more time on the bench this year, and both Aston Villa and Marseille are on high alert.

Alex McLeish has reportedly decided to find a strike partner for out of form Darren Bent, and Borriello is one name amongst a long list of potential candidates.
