Harry denies Spurs-Chelsea Torres-Modric swap

16 January 2012 - 06:01

Harry Redknapp has refuted reports of a mega money swap deal involving underperforming Chelsea striker Fernando Torres and Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric.

 • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
 • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
 • On Sunday night a report appeared that linked Modric with a move to Stamford Bridge as part of a swap deal for 50m GBP striker Fernando Torres.
But Harry Redknapp was quick to reject the rumours, insisting that Modric will be staying at White Hart Lane for the time being: "No I have never heard that one.
"I think Torres is starting to look the player that we all know he can be, the player he was at Liverpool - he is a top player no doubt that about it.
"But there is no way he is coming to Tottenham and no swap deal is in the offing for Luka Modric."
