Newcastle target Cissokho keen to leave

Lyon defender Aly Cissokho last night moved a step closer to agreeing a move with Newcastle, as the full back began discussions with the Toon. Lyon and Newcastle are believed to have already agreed a 5.8m GBP fee.

Cissokho has always been desperate to make a move over the Channel to the Premier League, and it appears Newcastle are on the verge of completing a switch.<br />

"I am waiting for the green light from Lyon," said the defender.<br />

"I am a Lyon player and if they agree a fee with a club, I will then talk to that club.<br />

"But nothing is done yet and I have not been to Newcastle for a medical.<br />

"Newcastle and Lyon are talking about me, but there are other teams interested as well."
