Redknapp pledges future to Spurs after 5-0 win

12 February 2012 - 14:32

Harry Redknapp, the favourite to succeed Fabio Capello as England manager, has pledged his future to Tottenham despite intense media speculation linking him with a move away from White Hart Lane. Redknapp saw his Spurs side cruise to a 5-0 win over Newcastle on Saturday.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • Harry Redknapp is the odds on favourite to take the job for Euro 2012 after Fabio Capello stepped down after the Italian became frustrated with his employers for taking the captain's armband away from John Terry.

Two goals from Louis Saha, Emmanuel Adebayor and one from Benoit Assou-Ekotto ensured victory for the Lilywhites yesterday, and Redknapp ensured fans that he will not leave White Hart Lane before the end of the season.

"They've been great to me since I've been here, the fans, I've enjoyed every minute at Tottenham. It's gone well for me here and I think we all appreciate each other," said Harry.

"Things are going well, we've just got to keep focusing on the next game. We've got some great games to come. If it ever happened and I got the offer you'd have to consider that, but at the moment I'm just focusing purely on Tottenham.

"I'm not going to leave them in the lurch. Everyone's been great to me, it's going well here and we've just got to keep going."
