Roman Abramovich is believed to be desperate to bring in a manager with huge experience and with success at the highest level, and van Gaal would certainly tick all of the boxes after his spells with Barcelona.<br />

Van Gaal has been out of work for over a year, and is desperate to try his luck in the Premier League.
