Top priority for Arsenal is Stevan Jovetic

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has one name at the top of his transfer shortlist this summer, Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic. The Gunners boss has been a fan of the Montenegrin international for over three years and is confident that he can wrap up a deal for the player.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • The 23-year-old has played over 100 games for Fiorentina, whilst representing his country a total of 26 times scoring 10 goals. Arsene Wenger first identified Jovetic as a hot prospect for the future over two years ago when the Frenchman watched a Serie A game in which the forward played.

Since then, Arsenal's first two offers have both been rejected by the Viola. But this summer the Gunners are confident that they can sign Jovetic for a fee of around 15 million Euros as Arsene Wenger searches for a long term replacement for Robin van Persie. So far this year, Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud have yet to consistently prove to the Frenchman that they are capable of replacing van Persie and now the manager will look to sign an alternative.
