Rooney unhappy as Man Utd midfielder

06 June 2013 - 05:40

Manchester United's forward Wayne Rooney admits that he is not happy playing second fiddle to Robin van Persie. The England international has been playing in midfield in recent months.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Nottingham Forest, Romeo Lavia starts

  • He was asked in an interview if he was happy playing as an attacking midfielder.

"No. In the years to come that might be somewhere I could play, but right now, I'm definitely a centre-forward. I'm after more goals," Wayne said.

"When you play as a target man, you have to stay up front and help the team out by holding the ball up and waiting for support. That all comes with experience. It's a good role for me to play and hopefully I can continue doing well there."
