Saints are keen to commence with their summer spending with the South Coast side willing to bid for the Argentine international Banega who is rated very highly.<br />

Saints boss, who has already secured the £8.5m capture of highly rated Lyon defender Dejan Lovren, will be looking to add more ammunition to his squad in a bid to finish the forthcoming season above the relegation candidates.<br />

Pochettino will be hopeful of enticing his countryman Banega to St Mary’s, who has been very impressive during his four seasons at Valencia. He was denied a move to Everton in 2009 because of visa issues.<br />

Central midfielder Banega has 17 caps to his name for Argentina and would prove a very valuable addition to the Southampton side if they are willing to shell out around £8M for him.
