Saints plan ambitious £8M bid for Ever Banega

Southampton Boss Mauricio Pochettino has a £30M budget for the summer. The Argentine manager is a big fan of his fellow countryman.

Saints are keen to commence with their summer spending with the South Coast side willing to bid for the Argentine international Banega who is rated very highly.


Saints boss, who has already secured the £8.5m capture of highly rated Lyon defender Dejan Lovren, will be looking to add more ammunition to his squad in a bid to finish the forthcoming season above the relegation candidates.


Pochettino will be hopeful of enticing his countryman Banega to St Mary’s, who has been very impressive during his four seasons at Valencia. He was denied a move to Everton in 2009 because of visa issues.


Central midfielder Banega has 17 caps to his name for Argentina and would prove a very valuable addition to the Southampton side if they are willing to shell out around £8M for him.
