Arsenal's Bid For Ashley Williams Stalls

20 June 2013 - 18:12

Arsenal's pursuit of Swansea's Ashley Williams has been impeded by the steep 10 million pounds price tag. Arsenal's efforts to land the defender on their side has taken a huge blow, following Arsene Wenger's reluctance to pay out the huge amount Swansea are demanding of them.

 • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
 • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
 • The Gunners have had Williams on their radar for quite some time now, but they have failed to negotiate terms with the Wales international's present club- Swansea; the transfer fee being the sticking point.
Swansea accept there is a high probability of the defender quitting the Liberty Stadium this summer but he would be allowed to go on their terms only, presently the clause stating no less than 10million pounds.
The 28 year old has also been eyed upon by the likes of Liverpool and Everton. Everton's manager Roberto Martinez who takes office following the end of David Moyes' contract has been targeting the defender to fill in for Phil Jagielka, who has drawn interest from the Old Trafford.
So, apparently there is hope for the 10million pounds clause to be fulfilled by some club making Arsene Wenger have to go the extra mile to finalise this deal.
