Wayne Rooney To Hold Crunch Talks With David Moyes

22 June 2013 - 14:16

Wayne Rooney will take a decision about his future at Manchester United in a few days after holding talks to new United manager David Moyes. It has been hinted that Rooney might end up quitting the club for Stamford Bridge, his preferred destination but it would be too early to conclude anything before the crunch talks between Rooney and his former Everton boss Moyes.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Spurs, Gilchrist starts
  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs

  • Moyes is due back from holiday on Monday and will discuss things with Wayne Rooney ahead of United’s pre-season training on July 3. Europe’s top clubs would be monitoring this situation as Rooney’s market status would be seemingly clear after this meeting.

Rooney has been targeted by Chelsea and rumours suggest that incoming Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelloti also has shown interest in the former Everton striker, who he thinks could be a good change for Bernabeu.

It has also been suggested that the 27-year old would prefer to stay in England for family reasons and should he leave Old Trafford, it would be for Chelsea. Moyes would also place an audacious bid for Real striker Christiano Ronaldo and if the bid fails, he would go for Borussia Dortmund’s striker Robert Lewandowski.
