Arsenal to bid for AC Milan star Stephan El Shaarawy

Arsenal to bid for AC Milan star Stephan El Shaarawy

22 June 2013 - 15:59

The Gunners have now turned their attention from Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney to AC Milan's Stephan El Shaarawy according to reports from Italy.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • As per reports, Arsenal have reportedly already secured a deal to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid but Wenger could be willing to add more even more options to the attack.

Wayne Rooney has also been linked with a move to Chelsea and this has put doubt on whether Arsenal could compete terms with the Stamford Bridge club for his services.

AC Milan look to be set for a major summer squad re-building project and Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani has been at pains to state that the Italian international striker is not for sale in spite of interest from a number of top clubs.

A move for El Shaarawy would be a reliable option for the Arsenal manager who likes the option of having young talented players in his squad. Wenger has tracked El Shaarawy for sometime now and has been told that Arsenal are on sound enough financial footing to be able to make such a sizable offer for the Italian forward, after serving out the £22m needed to sign Higuain.

Should Arsenal bid for the Italian International, they would have to come up with a bid of atleast £30m which is not an unusual fee comparing the high sum transfers made by different clubs over the past few seasons.
