Arsenal target Julio Cesar will quit QPR

30 June 2013 - 04:46

Queens Park Rangers' manager Harry Redknapp has officially confirmed that Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar will quit the club this summer. Arsenal are reportedly in discussions with the goalkeeper's representatives.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Gunners are searching Europe for a new goalkeeper as Vito Mannone looks set to move to Sunderland, and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is not happy with current understudy to Wojciech Szczesny, Lukas Fabianski.

Redknapp confirmed a potential exit for Cesar: "Julio Cesar will move on. He's a top class goalkeeper, Brazil's No. 1. He's been in great form for Brazil and I presume there's a big club out there for him. He won't play in the Championship, he's a goalkeeper for a big club."
