Fenerbahce Near Cardozo Deal

Fenerbahce Near Cardozo Deal

04 July 2013 - 16:29

It has been revealed by several media reports that Turkish giants Fenerbahce are closing in on the Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo. According to his agent an agreement may soon be reached.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The 30 year old striker has been linked with a move to the Premier League for quite some time now. It was reported earlier that the Paraguayan international’s future was set to be decided in the coming weeks as his agent, Pedro Aldave, had been in contact with many Premier League clubs.

It was understood that Manchester City and Cardiff, both were interested in the striker. Manchester City are keen to find an ideal replacement for Carlos Tevez, who left for Juventus recently. Manuel Pellegrini is said to be a keen admirer of the Benfica man. But recent reports linking City with Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo seem to have eclipsed their interest in Cardozo.

Fenerbahce, however, have always appeared to be leading the race for Cardozo’s sign and as suggested by his agent Aldave, a deal could be struck soon.

"The negotiations between the two clubs are going well and the agreement is practically closed. There are only a few details to be resolved"

"His signing could come at any time”.
