The La Liga giants Barcelona may lose one of their precious stars in the form of former Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas, The Gunners presently have a first option clause in the Spaniard's contract should the Catalan side allow his sale.
Fabregas, who left the North London club in the summer of 2011, after a long standing transfer saga. Last season, the Spanish International had beed restricted to the bench. The midfielder has been reported to state that he is willing to stay at Camp Nou and fight for his place in the starting line-up.
Arsenal have put themselves in pole positiong should the talented midfielder be made available for a switch. Wenger is currently not in need of a playmaker but one cannot forget what influence the Spaniard had during his stay at the Emirates.
If Wenger is to decide on bidding for the player, he would have to match the 25m pound first option clause.
