Atletico Mineiro's left midfielder Bernard has been linked with a move to several Premier League clubs, but it appears that Liverpool are leading the race for the player's coveted signature.

The 20-year-old burst onto the scene in the Brazilian leagues back in 2010 and has since gone on to appear for the Brazil national team 5 times. Last year two unnamed Russian teams had &pound;10 million offers rejected for the left winger, but Liverpool are about to make a massive &pound;20 million bid for the starlet.<br />

Tottenham were also rumoured to be in the race for the player, but after signing Paulinho from Corinthians it appears that Spurs' interest has cooled.<br />

The 5 foot 4 youngster could be signed at Liverpool as a possible replacement for Luis Suarez, who has been linked with a transfer to both Arsenal and Real Madrid.
