Manchester United set sights on Cesc Fabregas

15 July 2013 - 15:25

Manchester United have been linked with a move for another Barcelona player, Cesc Fabregas. The Old Trafford side has reportedly placed a £26m bid for the midfielder.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Fabregas has constantly stressed his desire to stay at the Camp Nou, despite having a difficult time last season. United have been targeting the former Arsenal skipper for quite some time now.

If Moyes is successful in pulling off this major transfer coup, it would be his first significant signing as a United manager. Moyes is keen to fill the void created in the midfield after the loss of Paul Scholes.

David Moyes had earlier concentrated on acquiring the Spanish U21 star Thiago Alcantara, who recently snubbed them in favour of Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich. Now the newly appointed manager has focused all his endeavours in landing the skillful central midfielder, who has featured in 96 games for the Catalans in two seasons.
