Rafinha To Move To Celta Vigo On A Loan Deal

Barcelona have agreed with Celta Vigo over a loan deal for Rafinha. The Catalan club have confirmed that the midfielder will move to Celta Vigo on a season-long loan deal.

  • The 20-year-old had extended his contract with Barcelona until June, 2016. The club have now offered him a chance to experience some first-team football with Luis Enrique&rsquo;s side.<br />

    The La Liga champions have confirmed the deal on their official website.<br />

    "FC Barcelona and Celta have agreed to terms for the player Rafael Alcantara, who will join the <em>Celestes</em> for the 2013-14 season on loan," read Barca's statement.<br /> <br /> "Before the midfielder signed his new contract, he showed his disposition to join another Liga team on loan in the hopes of enjoying more playing time in Spain's top flight.<br /> <br /> "At Celta, Rafinha will join up with former team-mates Fontas and Nolito.<br />

    Rafinha, holds dual nationality and has played for both Spain and Brazil at youth level. He is a product of Barcelona youth academy, La Masia.<br />

    The player, who is also the younger brother of Thiago Alcantara, prefers playing as an attacking midfielder and has made his debut with Barcelona&rsquo;s senior team in November 2011, substituting Cesc Fabregas. He netted 10 goals for Barca&rsquo;s B team in 2012-13.
